Redefining Strength Through Care and Accountability

Project Slogan

Strong Minds. Responsible Men. Safer Communities

Project Duration

12 Months (Quarterly Sessions)

Project Location

Community-based spaces (urban and refugee-hosting settings)

Target Group

  • Young men aged 18–35

Background & Rationale

Young men are often excluded from safe, guided conversations around mental health, gender equality, and emotional wellbeing. As a result, many internalize harmful norms of masculinity that discourage emotional expression, reinforce violence, and weaken social cohesion. This absence of dialogue contributes to increased mental distress, gender-based violence, substance abuse, and disengagement from positive community roles.

The Young Men Safe Space Initiative was developed to address this gap by creating intentional spaces where young men are not judged, silenced, or blamed, but instead supported to reflect, learn, and grow. The initiative recognizes that sustainable community transformation requires engaging young men as allies and leaders in promoting equality, non-violence, and wellness.

Overall Goal

To cultivate a generation of emotionally aware, responsible, and socially accountable young men who actively promote positive masculinity, non-violence, and community wellbeing.

Specific Objectives

  1. To provide safe spaces for young men to discuss mental health, identity, and social responsibility.

  2. To increase awareness and understanding of positive masculinity and gender equality.

  3. To prevent gender-based and all forms of violence through education and dialogue.

  4. To strengthen emotional intelligence, accountability, and leadership among young men.

  5. To promote community inclusion, unity, and environmental responsibility.
